The Lamborghini brand started in 1963 when Ferruccio Lamborghini, the owner of a successful tractor company, decided to venture into the world of supercars. Ironically, he made this decision because he was disappointed with the road performance of his own Ferrari. Ferruccio built the very first Lamborghini 350 GTV in 1963, paving the way to the first mass-produced Lamborghini, the 350 GT. The brand quickly became a powerhouse in the automobile market.

In 2014, Lamborghini celebrated its 50th anniversary with the introduction of the Veneno Roadster offered at a base price of $4.5 million. With a top speed of 221 mph, the Roadster is a special edition of the Lamborghini Veneno, with its main selling point being its one-of-a-kind aerodynamics, giving the supercar a futuristic arrow-like shape. The 2021 Lamborghini Sian was a special edition car meant to commemorate the founding of Lamborghini in 1963, with a production line of only 63 cars. But its real significance is that the car was Lamborghini’s first-ever hybrid production car.

The Lamborghini Aventador J is a far more extreme version of the company’s flagship model, the Aventador. With a top speed of 186 miles per hour, the only Aventador J produced was sold almost as soon as the concept car was released in 2012 for $2.8 million. The stunning Aventador J roadster was neither a concept car nor a race car, but instead, a road-legal production car – if the term can be applied to a single unit.

In 2011, Lamborghini named its new car, Sesto Elemento, after the sixth element of the Periodic Table, paying tribute to the extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the vehicle. The car weighs just over 2,000 pounds, has a top speed of 221 miles per hour, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in a record-breaking 2.5 seconds. However, the catch is that it’s not street legal. Arguably the most ‘Lamborghini’ of any car produced by the company in the 21st Century, The Centenario was released in homage to founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. Like most of Lamborghini models, another limited run – they made only 13 of the Venenos, nine of which were Roadsters while the remaining four were Coupes. Three coupes were sold and a fourth resides at the Museum of Lamborghini Technologies in Sant'Agata Bolognese. Lamborghini offered the Veneno at a price of $4.5 million but the supercar most likely sold for much more. The body is made with aircraft-grade carbon fibre, with aluminium front and rear subframes contributing to its lightweight feel. Lamborghini actually used components designed for the race-track on the car in a fitting partnership between the vehicle and the ultimate surface to drive it on.

This classic card, featuring Babe Ruth swinging a baseball bat, sold for $4.2 million in 2021. The card itself is almost 90 years old and is part of a very small handful of cards graded as a 9 by the Professional Sports Authenticator. Babe Ruth, known as “The Bambino” and “The Sultan of Swat,” was an American baseball player, who played primarily for the New York Yankees. He had a record breaking 714 career home runs and he is an enduring icon in sports history. Sotheby’s placed it in the “pantheon” of sports cards.

These cards were once dumped by the case into the Atlantic Ocean due to overproduction and lack of demand. In the 1960s, Topps had far too many unsold 1952 baseball cards and so, to clear warehouse space, Sy Berger, a Topps executive, made the call to dispose of the cards. As a result, these cards are now very valuable as the disposal increased their scarcity. One of these cards, sold by Sotheby’s, eclipsed $4 million, indicating its value to collectors.

Here we have another Mickey Mantle card. Mickey Mantle, otherwise known as “The Mick,” was an American baseball player for the New York Yankees. He is a beloved figure in baseball, and this is reflected in the immense popularity of his cards. This card is one of the few PSA 9 cards in the world and, according to Sotheby’s, it sold for $5.2 million to Billionaire Boys Club actor Rob Gough and set a world record.

Sotheby’s report that this card is consistently at the top of sports card sales leader boards. Honus Wagner was known as “The Flying Dutchman” and he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in a career spanning from 1897 to 1917. He won eight batting titles and is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time.

At the beginning of his career, Babe Ruth spent several months in the minor leagues, playing for the Baltimore Orioles in his hometown. Sotheby’s writes that Ruth was signed at the age of 19, straight out of high school, by the owner and manager of the Orioles. After playing for this side, he moved to the major leagues with the Red Sox. The sale price of this particular card reflects his enduring impact on the sport.

Here we have a reappearance of Honus Wagner, whose cards, according to Sotheby’s, are among some of the most sought after in the world. This second listing, per Sotheby’s, is exceptionally rare and sold in 2022 for $7.25 million, a record breaking sale.

A diamond, explains the experts at Sotheby’s, is the hardest natural substance on earth. Even so, it still needs regular care to keep it looking the best it can. When you’re out and about living your life the diamond and its fittings can end up coated in a layer of dirt and this can dull its shine. A diamond’s sparkle comes from light shining in through the top and refracting off the bottom of the diamond to one side or the other. Think of how many times you might have moisturised your hands while wearing your ring, how many hands you might have shaken, and how many little everyday tasks you’ve done that have built up on your diamond over time.

Remember, when you are cleaning your ring at home there are certain products you simply must avoid: bleach, chlorine, acetone, and toothpaste. Basically, you want to avoid anything abrasive that might damage the metals in your ring. Try also to use soft brushes rather than anything hard bristled as you do not want to scratch or abrade your ring. Try also to prevent your ring getting too dirty. Remember, you should take off diamond rings before taking a shower as regular soap can cause a layer of film to build up on the jewellery and dull its shine. Try soaking your ring in a supermarket bought cleaning solution while you’re in the shower. Remember too, when you can, to take diamond jewellery off while applying creams to your skin as these too can build up over time. Try also to take your ring off while cooking as certain oils can cause damage and discoloration, which is the very last thing you want after a romantic dinner for two.&nbsp; If you are planning on doing any labour-intensive manual tasks be sure to take your ring off to prevent it from getting damaged.

They advise taking the ring away from the sink drain (you wouldn’t want to drop it!) and swishing it in lukewarm soapy water for a minute or so. While the ring is still wet you should use a soft toothbrush to gently clean underneath the diamond and in the setting. Rinse off with warm water and you are good to go.

Mix a little baking soda with some water to form a paste and use a toothbrush to apply it to the ring and scrub gently. Once you have finished (and it is shining brilliantly), rinse the ring under some warm water.

<h2>Windex</h2>

Before you get going with this tip you should note that you must not use bleach-based products on your diamonds. But Windex, according to Sotheby's, is just fine. They suggest taking your diamond ring and soaking it in the cleaning product overnight. Once it has soaked and is cleaned to your liking just rinse it off and it is ready to wear.

These are all simple ways to clean your diamond ring at home, however those at Sotheby’s do recommend taking your ring to your jeweller once every six months so that the jeweller can check the prongs of your ring setting and ensure your diamond is secure. Earl’s Court in West London’s Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has a fascinating history. This busy inner-city district gained its name from the Earl of Warwick, the local lord at the time. It’s hard to imagine now, but the area was once farmland. It wasn’t until the 19th century, and developments like the introduction of the Metropolitan District Railway, that urbanisation came to the area. 
The opening of the Earl’s Court Exhibition Grounds in 1887 brought more people to the area as it hosted various events. Earl’s Court was also an event hub in the 20th century as the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre opened in 1937. This became a noted venue for exhibitions, events, and concerts from major bands and artists, including David Bowie, Oasis, and Michael Jackson. Sadly, the venue was demolished in 2014.

<h2>Troubadour</h2> 
This iconic live music venue, café, and restaurant has previously played host to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and Adele. The Troubadour opened its doors in 1954 and is London’s last independent live music venue from the coffee-house era. It still hosts live music events most nights of the week, so check the listings and book your tickets for what’s sure to be a fun evening. The venue mostly focuses on up-and-coming talents, so you might just catch the next big thing. This is a great place to dine too, with its cosy restaurant serving up tasty British food with a French gourmet twist. <h2>Kensington Gardens</h2> 
There are few better places to escape London’s busy streets than the beautiful Kensington Gardens. This 265-acre space is one of eight royal parks in London and was originally part of the private grounds of Kensington Palace. Today, it is free to enter and open to all. Kensington Gardens has an interesting past and there are numerous statues, monuments and fountains to admire as you explore. Don’t miss the gorgeous Italian Gardens on the north side of the park, near Lancaster Gate. This beautiful ornamental water garden was created in the 1860s and is thought to have been a gift to Queen Victoria from her husband Albert. For many, Kensington Gardens brings to mind memories of Princess Diana who lived at Kensington Palace. The Diana Memorial Playground, next to her former home, is an incredible place for children to play. It features a wooden pirate ship at its centre, a sensory trail, and plenty of seating for adults. 
Art lovers will feel right at home here too, as Kensington Gardens has two famous contemporary art galleries – Serpentine Gallery North and South. Of course, the gardens are also a wonderful place to walk, run, meet friends, picnic, or simply relax.

<h2>Kensington Palace</h2> 
British royals have been living at Kensington Palace, set in Kensington Gardens, for more than 300 years. Princess Diana and King Charles lived in apartment 9 and raised William and Harry there. The palace is still used by the royal family, but many areas are open for visitors to explore, giving you the chance to follow in the footsteps of royalty. 
The admission fee includes access to the grand King’s State Apartments, the Jewel Room featuring gems commissioned for Queen Victoria, the Queen’s State Apartments, the King’s Gallery, and more. As you might expect, many of the rooms are spectacularly furnished and feature grand paintings, and there is plenty of opportunity to learn about the palace’s history. No ticket is required to enter the Palace Gardens, including the Sunken Garden with its statue of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Several of London’s best museums are within easy reach of Earl’s Court. The Design Museum is along Kensington High Street near Holland Park, just a 15-minute walk away from Earl’s Court Underground Station. The Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Science Museum in South Kensington can also be reached on foot in around 20 minutes, or even faster by tube. Best of all, entry to these museums is free, although some exhibitions may require payment, making for a fun and budget-friendly day out for visitors and locals alike.

<h2>Brompton Cemetery</h2> 
Grade II-listed Brompton Cemetery was established in 1840 and is one of the UK’s oldest garden cemeteries. It’s considered one of London’s Magnificent Seven cemeteries, covers more than 39 acres, and is the resting place of more than 200,000 people. Among them are many notable people, including explorer Richard Francis Burton, pioneering doctor John Snow, and suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. Many of the memorials here are grand, and this is a serene place to wander with its paths lined with lime trees. Brompton is also a haven for wildlife, including butterflies, birds, and bats. At the north end of the cemetery, you’ll find an information centre to help you make the most of your time here. There’s also a café, which is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy a hot drink or a bite to eat in relaxing surroundings.
