Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, unveiled the capital's most anticipated interior design event of the spring season: London Design Week. Curated to spark inspiration and conversation, the event drew London's leading creatives, interior designers, and architects across five days of programming.
Taking place from 9 to 13 March 2026, the programme brought together more than 135 showrooms and 30+ pop-up House Guests, alongside talks by industry experts and immersive workshops charting the latest directions in interiors and decor. A kaleidoscope of fresh palettes, inventive materials, and unexpected textures animated the Design Centre's spaces, with over 100 events held under one roof. Gourmet food and drink venues rounded out the offer, making the 2026 edition as convivial as it was creatively rigorous. Showrooms and events ran daily from approximately 10:00 AM to early evening.

Originally built by William the Conqueror as part of a strategic network of fortifications, Windsor Castle has, over time, become one of the most recognisable and largest royal residences in the country. Notable highlights include the Norman-designed Round Tower and St George's Chapel, the burial site of many prominent English monarchs - the most recent being Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. 
The castle is a permanent residence for the royal family but is occasionally open to the public via tours of the site and grounds, which are incredibly popular. Public fascination with the castle goes back several centuries, with the first guidebook printed in 1742. Highlights of the tour include the impressive State Apartments, featuring works by Rembrandt and Rubens, whilst the dollhouse and the Chinese art collections of Queen Mary provide fascinating insights into shifting Royal tastes throughout time.

<h2>Arundel Castle</h2> 
Another of the great Norman castles located close to the sea on the south coast of England, Arundel Castle was established in 1067 by Roger de Montgomery, one of William the Conqueror’s most trusted aides. Serving as the ancestral home of the Dukes of Norfolk, it has undergone numerous renovations and expansions over the centuries. Some of the most notable changes happened during the Victorian era, making it one of the most well-maintained and expansive castles in the country that is not a Royal Residence.

Perched close to the border of Wales in Herefordshire, Eastnor Castle is a privately constructed residence from the 19th century. This sets it apart from the other entries on this list as a mock castle, having never been built for defensive purposes. It’s somewhat ironic given the long history of castles built along the Welsh borders as a deterrent to raiders. However, Eastnor boasts a particularly impressive collection of rooms, complete with the family heirlooms of the Earls of Somers. 
The private arms and armour collection includes significant pieces such as an Etruscan helmet and full suits of medieval tourney armour. Another notable highlight is the lavish Gothic Room, and the still-working flour mill, which has been running since the 18th century and is one of the few remaining in the country. Land Rover has a vehicle test centre on the estate grounds for would-be customers, and such is the castle’s appeal that it was most recently featured in several episodes of the Emmy-winning series Succession.

On your visit to Richmond Park, it’s worth noting that deer are crepuscular animals, meaning they are primarily active in the dawn and dusk hours. This makes the early mornings and late afternoons prime times for spotting them, where the deer may be out foraging, feeding, or moving between areas.
Mornings in particular are less likely to have many people in the park and, whilst the animals have become quite accustomed to humans, they are more likely to be out and about when there are fewer visitors.
The added benefit of this time of the day is the light is often softer and at times can feel almost mystical. With some early morning mist rising from the undergrowth, you could quite easily forget a global city centre is just 12 miles away and you’re not hiking a highland wilderness. Having a camera to hand is a must and even the most amateur of photographers would get some pretty enchanting results with these wonderful creatures as the stars of the show.
The late afternoon, particularly an hour or two before sunset, can also offer great opportunities to spot deer. As the day starts to cool and the sun begins to drop lower in the sky, the deer often become more active, moving towards feeding areas and grazing. Depending on the season, you may also witness the deer engaging in interesting behaviours, such as sparring with one another during the ‘rutting season’. As with the mornings, again this time can be perfect for photography with warm late afternoon hues bathing the Richmond Park acres.&nbsp;

<h2>Seasonal Timings</h2>
While Richmond Park is open all year round and the deer often visible throughout the year, different seasons can offer some unique observations on their behaviour.
Spring and early summer are particularly special for those interested in witnessing baby deer (fawns), which are normally born in May and June. Whilst you are advised to take care during this period so as not to scare the mothers and their young, you may well be fortunate enough to see these tiny, spotted youngsters grazing with their mothers. Between the birthing months (1 May – 31 July), dogs must be kept on a lead in the park.
The months of September and October offer something special for deer lovers and casual visitors alike. This is when the rutting season occurs, a period of intense competition and mating rituals among the males. Red deer are the largest land mammal native to the British Isles so these scenes can be quite spectacular to witness. During the rut, the dominant stags engage in dramatic battles, using their impressive antlers, which have been growing ready for battle since the early spring, to fight for the attention of the females. As well as the clatter of antlers, the sound of their roars, or ‘bellowing’, can be heard echoing across the park. The backdrop during these months is also stunning, with the autumnal colours of the leaves providing breathtaking scenery.
Winter in Richmond Park offers the possibility of frost or light snow, so it can be a truly magical time to visit. With the rutting period behind them, the deer tend to be a little quieter during the colder months, with much of their time spent foraging for food and conserving energy. Although less active, a winter encounter with a deer on a crisp cold morning can be equally if not more rewarding than other times of the year, and with fewer people visiting the park at this time, the sense that you might be the only one there is a secret worth sharing.

Sunday Roasts are served with the usual line-up of veg, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and Yorkshire pudding.
Occupying the former site of The Lot, the owners of No.1 Duke Street, have invested heavily to transform it into a smart neighbourhood bar and restaurant. With attention very much on service and detail, the attentive staff look smart, kitted out in their ankle-length white aprons, and provide a top-notch service to match. There’s nothing overly stylised about the interiors but the minimal-meets-industrial design creates a sort of blank canvas, primed and ready for pretty much any occasion. Blankets are offered to any chilly guests braving the outdoors; there’s a games room, nicely-lit bar areas, kitchen, and restaurant.
If the sun is shining (or you take up the offer of a blanket), try the bar’s courtyard and garden, promising an ‘oasis in the centre of Richmond’ and you’ll find you won’t want to move for the rest of day.

The beer choice is superb, with an extensive selection of expertly-sourced independent breweries. Other drinks are available too and equally well-curated.
Richmond Vault also offers a range of food that goes perfectly with a schooner of IPA –&nbsp; stone-baked pizzas, pots of mussels, handcrafted burgers, and succulent ribs.

If you’re looking for somewhere to base yourself on a rugby match day, The Orange Tree is not far from Richmond Tube Station, and they go all out, screening the big games and quite often putting on a not-to-be-missed barbecue and early bar. To walk into Incognito is an experience in itself. A cocktail bar and restaurant located in the heart of Richmond, this is only telling half the story. Inspired by explorations from the ‘four corners of the world’, like a Victorian circus master, the bar brings a wealth of the odd, weird, and wonderful to this corner of Richmond, and what a feast it is. It promises experiences inspired by “the finest parlors of Marrakech and speakeasies of Chicago to share hallucinogenic tipples with the shamans in the deepest rainforests of Honduras, whilst searching for the treasures hidden at the Ancient Lost City of the Monkey God”.
