Situated along the north bank of the Thames in South West London, Fulham is a relaxed suburb with a strong community spirit and plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. In the eighteenth century, Fulham carried a different reputation, drawing in London’s wealthiest in search of gambling and more illicit pleasures. Well into the first half of the twentieth century, it retained a largely working-class character before undergoing significant regeneration in the decades following the Second World War. By the late twentieth century, Fulham had been thoroughly transformed, and today stands amongst the capital’s most exclusive and desirable residential districts.
