The songstress who sang the iconic James Bond soundtrack Diamonds Are Forever is set to part with some of her personal diamonds at an upcoming auction in Paris which includes legendary items including a diamond ring gifted to her by Sir Elton John.

Another impressive offering is a ruby and diamond heart parure which she purchased during a stopover in Thailand en route to her first concert in Australia. The auction features over 70 pieces presenting a range of gems including rubies, sapphires, and diamonds, and expects to raise an impressive amount of money for charity. Sotheby’s expect the emerald and diamond necklace by Van Cleef &amp; Arpels to attract bids from £52,000 to £65,000. The auction also includes a diamond necklace, expected to fetch between £232,420 and £275,460, and a Cartier diamond and gold parure, estimated at&nbsp; £215,210. Additionally, a yellow diamond ring is anticipated to fetch £172,150 alongside an aquamarine, sapphire, diamond, and gem set estimated between £51,640 and £60,250.

Bassey’s stellar career has gone from strength to strength which is exemplified by the fact she is now in her eighth decade in the spotlight. Her God-given talent, ability to connect with her audience and endless charisma have connected her with people of different generations from all across the globe. Despite its longevity, the singer shows no plans of slowing down stating: “Every step of my career has been about taking that chance, believing in myself, and making that leap. Dame Shirley Bassey holds an impressive record for recording not one, not two, but three James Bond themes. The Auburn 851 Supercharged Speedster, an American counterpart to the famed Bentleys and Bugattis of the 1920s and 1930s, was first introduced in 1928. General Motors introduced the concept of ‘companion cars’ in the early 1920s to complement its core brands - LaSalle, for example, was the companion brand to Cadillac. Despite its initial success, LaSalle was on the verge of extinction less than a decade later due to evolving consumer preferences and a lagging economy. Harley Earl, GMC’s chief designer and one of the backers of LaSalle, gave the marque new life in 1933 with a streamlined new design that ensured its continued production until 1940. 
The 1933 LaSalle 345-C Convertible Coupe featured here is an extraordinarily rare example, being one of only 146 produced and among just five surviving models listed in the LaSalle Club Directory. It has undergone a careful restoration with attention to period details, showcased in a sophisticated grey and dark red colour combination.

Locomobile, a distinguished manufacturer from Connecticut, was known for producing robust and well-engineered vehicles during the Brass era of motoring. A rare and highly coveted car by Packard, this 1937 roadster carries its original data plate identifying it as the 38th vehicle produced on the 1507 chassis. Originally owned by a relative of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it was passed down to two owners - each of whom held onto it for a few decades - before entering the collection of renowned car dealer Ervin ‘Bud’ Lyon in 1998. Lyon, known for his meticulous restoration work, engaged the services of the esteemed restorer Chris Charlton to return the Packard to its original grandeur. 
In 2009, the vehicle was acquired by William B. Ruger Jr., CEO of Ruger firearms, who successfully restored its original vehicle plate.

The Hispano-Suiza is a French automobile developed by Swiss engineer Marc Birkigt and produced in Barcelona, Spain. The H6B is distinguished as one of the French-produced models, with a 135-horsepower six-cylinder engine and custom chassis. It was further modified in London before being delivered to a client in Kenya, with the earliest records of ownership dating back to 1954. The Hispano-Souza journeyed across the ocean over the span of six decades and eventually joined the renowned Adderley Collection in 2013. 
Restored to its former glory by Terrence Adderley, the Hispano-Suiza retains distinctive features from its previous ownership, including tyres fitted in the 1960s. It represents an excellent candidate for further restoration and competitive performance.

Mulliner Park Ward was established in the 1960s by Rolls-Royce, formed from the merger of two prominent coachbuilders. Mulliner, part of this new entity, specialised in creating bespoke modifications to Rolls-Royce chassis. Faced with the challenge of adapting a striking modern chassis designed by Vilhelm Koren, the newly formed entity of Mulliner Park Ward produced this particular make of drophead couples. Only 101 examples were made, 52 of which were designed with a left-hand drive for the American market. This 1965 model was part of that latter group and was delivered to noted collector and dealer Donald Cain. 
Originally finished in porcelain white with a distinctive black and white leather interior, the car was later acquired by Andrew Darling, a prominent Midwestern collector who had it refitted to a sophisticated black and red colour scheme. Following Darling’s passing, the car was auctioned by Sotheby’s in 1996 and remains a notable example of contemporary Rolls-Royce design and craftsmanship.

With the oldest house in London having been built in 1597 there are centuries of architecture built close together which adds to the allure, beauty and rarity of the London property scene.&nbsp;
 The Old War Office, where one of our team members, senior property consultant Guy Bradshaw has just transacted a high-value sale on a £14.5 million apartment, is the perfect example of how people are looking to purchase property that embraces the rich and storied past of London. Nowhere is more steeped in history than The Old War Office which finally opened to the public having undergone an extensive redevelopment. The works were carried out over six years which saw some of the most talented architects, designers and craftsmen come together to create this incredible space and successfully honour the building’s heritage.&nbsp;
 Guy, who carries a wealth of experience spanning 18 years &nbsp;operating in prime central London, oversaw the successful sale of the apartment. He stated “the buyer had initially exchanged contracts on a smaller, two-bedroom unit, but he loved the building so much, he switched to a bigger unit.  The work for what was known as the War Office (now called the Ministry of Defence) began on the site in 1899 and cost £1.2million (the equivalent of £123 million in today’s standards). Designed in an Edwardian Baroque style with extensive turrets, vast columns and expertly crafted statues adorn the spectacular Portland stone exterior.&nbsp; Unlike office blocks today, from the beginning of its creation, regal interiors and exteriors were prominent design features including a grand marble staircase in the middle of the building. Parts of the inside of the building were as regal as the exteriors, with a flamboyant marble staircase at the centre of the building that led up to the offices of secretaries of state and military heads.

 Geoff Hull, the director of EPR Architects who oversaw the restoration of the building has commented "When you first walk into the space, you feel as if it's almost like a Viennese opera house where you've got this kind of awe-inspiring detail and ornate work in terms of panelling and light".
 Today, however, it is a completely different story having been transformed into an exceptionally luxurious space. The Grade II* listed building now houses 85 unique Raffles-branded residences. Much more than a residence, these properties are a living piece of history, reimagined for the discerning few who will call it home.&nbsp;

Strengthening Sotheby’s Presence in the Middle Eastern Market
Since the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi in 2017, we have seen the capital city making notable inroads into the global fine art and luxury sectors in recent years. This August, the emirate significantly expanded its footprint in this space by securing a minority stake in Sotheby’s, the world-renowned auction house for fine art and luxury goods. Established in 1744 in the UK and currently based in New York, Sotheby’s has now welcomed its first substantial Arab minority investor through this partnership.
The £770 million investment is primarily sourced from ADQ, Abu Dhabi’s third-largest sovereign wealth fund, and additional funding from Sotheby’s owner, Patrick Drahi. Drahi, who first acquired Sotheby’s in 2019, remains the majority shareholder.
