Tesla’s Most Expensive Cars

Driving Luxury into the Future

Tesla Inc., manufacturer of electric automobiles and other technology, was founded in 2003 by American entrepreneurs Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. However it is PayPal cofounder, Elon Musk, who is the face of the brand. Musk contributed over $30 million dollars to help start the company and became chairman in 2004. In 2008, Tesla motors released its first car, the Roadster which was a completely electric automobile. Initial tests of the roadster showed that it performed at a level that was almost equal to gasoline powered sports cars, it was able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds and could reach an impressive top speed of 125 mph. With a lightweight car body and no tailpipe emissions, the car attained staggering efficiency ratings comparable with any luxury gasoline car. Following the release of the roadster, Musk took over as CEO of Tesla and it was then that the company was launched onto the global stage.

Decarbonised transportation is a vital part of humanity’s journey to net zero and spearheading that charge as an electric vehicle pioneer is Elon Musk and Tesla. Electric cars had existed before without great success, but it wasn’t until a small Silicon Valley startup, Tesla Motors, that the market for EVs was truly reshaped. Tesla’s announcement of intent and subsequent success spurred many car manufacturers into action. But when it comes to the perfect mix of EV power and extravagance, Tesla Motors is the unrivalled master.

Tesla’s Most Expensive Cars

All electric cars hold the marked advantage of zero carbon emissions. In such a pivotal period of time when the climate crisis is such a profound issue, limiting carbon emissions on the road has never been more important. However, there are many things that make Teslas unlike any other EV on the market. The first is the supercharger network which is high-speed, reliable and convenient. Tesla says that with as little as 15 minutes of charge, cars can drive up to 200 miles. Teslas are also famously low maintenance, requiring very little in the way of oil changes and upkeep.

Tesla has made many models over the years, all electric, reliable and aesthetically incredible. Below is a list of the most expensive and luxurious Teslas on the market.
