An Insight into Collective Napa Valley

Napa Valley’s achievement of remarkable wines comes down to its dedication to excellence, combined with a unique climate, and terrain, and the support of industry leaders and innovators determined to craft the world’s finest wines.

Collective Nappa Valley is a global community of supporters of the region’s finest wines and natural environment, coupled with philanthropy programmes that run throughout the year and exclusive wine events aimed at preserving the heritage and beauty of Napa Valley.

The Collective Napa Valley community hails from all corners of the globe, united by the same values and guided by the same principles – to raise a glass together and do good while forging lasting bonds and protecting precious natural resources. Members have access to curated special wine events, engagement with other local vintner members, and the chance to deepen their wine knowledge while investing and donating to local nonprofit organisations.

The fundraising is complemented by the allure of Napa Valley wine, vintner hospitality, and stunning scenery.

Sotheby’s Fine Wines and Experiences Auction

Sotheby’s and Collective Napa Valley together with Napa Valley Vintners join creative forces to offer an exceptional online auction experience to wine enthusiasts and Napa Valley lovers. The New York auction runs from the 29th of August and concludes on the 12th of September 2024, featuring impressive lots and an opportunity to acquire rare offerings from Napa Valley wineries. The auction is also an invitation to bid on adventures that invite participants to enjoy Napa Valley’s hospitality and beauty. Bidders can avail of special editions, including vintages like the six-bottle vertical Fantesca’s All Great Things Cabernet Blend – a unique insight into the winemaking artistry of Napa Valley. Proceeds from the sale will benefit youth mental health programmes in Napa Valley.

Impressive lot offerings will take centre stage at the auction, with one of the highlights being a vineyard tour and tasting experience through the heart of Stags Leap District led by Wine Cellars head winemaker Marcus Notaro, and Six-vintage Vertical selected bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon: 2000, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2021. The vintage bottles are a distinct expression of this legendary winery's viticultural heritage, and the tour will take you through the rich history and beauty of this region and the secrets behind its world-class wines.

Another highlight at the Sotheby’s auction event is a weekend packed full of adventures, specially curated for two couples to explore the world of Robert Mondavi Winery. The weekend debuts with an al fresco dinner at Arch & Tower, the winery's reimagined hospitality experience located in the historic Borreo Building on the Napa River where couples will enjoy a selection of rare library wines spanning decades, along with current releases, all perfectly paired with a delectable multi-course dinner crafted by Jeff Mosher, Robert Mondavi Winery's Executive Chef, and his talented culinary team.

The Enduring Appeal of Nappa Valley

Napa Valley is a relatively small but very diverse region – just 30 miles long and a few miles wide –  in California, about 50 miles north of San Francisco. The area’s topography can be described as having many dips and peaks, ranging from sea-level valley floors to mountain vineyards. Its natural beauty and rich wine-growing heritage have been well preserved through environmental leadership and community care. Napa Valley may be small in size but is big in stature, as it was the first American Viticultural Area designated in California, in 1981.

Vintage wines embody fascinating history and remarkable craftsmanship. Whether you choose a Cabernet blend or other grapes harvested from the finest vineyards throughout the Napa Valley, the Sotheby’s Fine Wines and Experiences Auction is ready to pour and deliver.
