Nocturnal Delights - These are The Best Clubs in Dubai
In a city where nothing is done by halves, nightlife has become a bona fide art form for the crown jewel of the Emirates. Unlike the free-spirited rise of Ibiza’s club scene, Dubai’s transformation into a global nightlife capital has been strategic, curated, and tastefully crafted to respect the local culture, whilst at the same time, putting many other party cities around the world to shame.
Clubbing in Dubai is layered. There are beach clubs with dusk-to-dark transitions, rooftops with impressive skyline views, and high-energy dance rooms where massive acts with global appeal like to return every year for the sheer spectacle. Each club has carved out its own identity through cultivating an experience which rivals that of the world’s most well-established party spots.
WHITE Dubai
WHITE Dubai opened in 2014 on the rooftop of Meydan Racecourse, as one of the first open-air venues in the city to deliver full-scale, late-night clubbing under the stars. The skyline view alone is worth the visit, with the Burj Khalifa twinkling in the distance and LED panels lighting up the grandstand roof above. Every night, WHITE goes all out, with lasers, fire bursts, dancers, and a sound system that wraps around the entire venue and threatens to shake it to its foundations.
Music varies across nights, but hip-hop and EDM are the kings of this venue. Headliners are privately flown in from the States, Europe, and the Afrobeat scene, supported by some of the region’s best resident DJs. Like many spots, it’s a heavily curated experience, with a selective door policy and strict dress code, as well as a no-nonsense approach to tables. But what WHITE delivers is the sheer scale and style that many come to Dubai for in the first place. It’s part spectacle, part institution, and still one of the most consistent heavyweights on the scene.
Soho Garden
Soho Garden isn’t a single venue, much like Soho House isn’t a sole establishment anymore – what it represents is a collective experience that branches out across multiple levels. Sprawled across a large Meydan plot, it blends indoor lounges, outdoor dance floors, and dining terraces into one fluid experience. It opens early for sundowners, evolves into a restaurant by night, and explodes into full-blown revelry as the clock chimes past midnight. The transitions are smooth, and the crowd flows with it, elegant, well-dressed, and ready for a big night out.
The programming is, at worst, eclectic, and at best, outright inspired. From minimal techno to Afrohouse, UK garage to hip-hop throwbacks, it feels eerily reminiscent of the glory days of Ministry of Sound and Fabric from London. The key rooms of Soho Club, Code, and Glasshouse each have their own identity and booking strategy, attracting a wide crowd from both Dubai’s residents and visiting clubbers.
Sky 2.0
With its dome-shaped canopies and sci-fi lighting rigs, Sky 2.0 is a venue that prioritises visual identity just as much as the music. Located in the heart of the Dubai Design District, the club occupies a circular, open-air space that pulses with light and movement. Unlike traditional indoor clubs, it thrives in Dubai’s cooler months through the sheer novelty of the experience, and the atmosphere is so charged it feels as if a ceiling wouldn’t keep a lid on it.
The crowd skews young and energetic, often international as it is popular with both visitors and Dubai’s colony of expats, and always camera-ready. DJs rotate regularly, but the focus is less about niche underground bookings and more about high-energy and immersion. It’s a spectacle, with everything from the programming to the cocktail menu tastefully selected. For those who want to dance in the open air all night long, all year long, Sky 2.0 is one of the city’s most unique clubbing experiences.
1 OAK Dubai
1 OAK Dubai harbours an imported swagger thanks to its New York origins that’s been lovingly adapted for the Gulf. The club lives inside the JW Marriott Marquis, but once past the velvet rope, it feels a world away from marble hotel lobbies and concierge service. Low ceilings, dark tones, and curated artwork create a moody, overtly downtown NY vibe that is both inviting and effortlessly elitist.
The music is almost exclusively hip-hop and R&B, made for the likes of international party-goers. Yes, there’s bottle service, but the energy is more social than clique. You’ll hear a mix of Travis Scott, Drake, and Burna Boy layered with edits designed to keep the crowd engaged in tracks they know and love, treading that fine-tight rope that keeps the party going with the right dose of familiar.
Armani/Privé
Set at the base of the tallest building in the world, Armani/Privé is a statement venue. Part of the Armani Hotel, this club is as much about brand as it is about the beats, with a sleek and minimal interior, reflecting the fashion house's signature style, adding an almost gallery-like quality to its design. It’s a place to be seen, but everyone comes to hear the same thing.
The music leans toward deep and tech-house, especially on its more curated nights. Unlike the louder venues across town, this is a refined listening space – the key point being that the crowd does come to appreciate the music. The kind of clientele who sip, sway, and subtly move with the beat. Composed and impeccably dressed, often arriving after late dinners or hotel events, a night here is not a party in the traditional sense, but it possesses a unique vibe which is effortless, and a standout among a city full of nighttime spectacles.
Billionaire Dubai
The concept for this club came from a fever dream during the Roaring Twenties. Founded by Flavio Briatore and located in the Taj Hotel, the venue begins with a dinner show that fuses live music, circus-style acrobatics, and choreography, whilst accompanied by an exquisite fine dining experience. After dessert, the velvet ropes part, the tempo shifts, and the venue morphs into a raucous, high-octane dance party.
The music shifts up-tempo, going from house to high-gloss hip-hop, and the energy in the room blooms as the resident DJ takes the stage. Perhaps a more brash nom de guerre, but Billionaire is a one-stop nightlife experience where guests arrive early, stay late, and leave knowing they’ve seen something more than your average night out in Dubai.
