The Best Cigar Lounges in Mayfair
Published: 01 June 2026
For decades, Mayfair’s hotels, clubs and specialist merchants have drawn collectors and enthusiasts in search of Cuban cigars, rare releases and expert guidance. It remains one of the few parts of the city where cigar culture is still taken seriously.
Today, the neighbourhood is home to a small number of lounges where that tradition continues. Some sit within hotels, others are newer salons built around serious cigar collections. Together they offer some of the most respected places in London for those seeking vintage Havanas, limited editions or simply a well-kept humidor and a comfortable chair.
In this guide, we highlight five of the best cigar lounges in Mayfair.

Fumar
Tucked within Shepherd Market, Fumar has quickly established itself as one of Mayfair’s more discreet cigar lounges and centres on the traditional culture of fine cigars.
At its core is a bespoke walk-in humidor that has been designed by Massimo of DeArt and houses a selection of Cuban cigars that range from classics to rare collector pieces. Among the highlights are the Cohiba A and the 1994 Cohiba Torpedo, selected for their provenance, ageing potential and flavour profile. Guests are guided through the collection by experienced cigar sommeliers who offer their recommendations.
The main lounge features soft lighting and understated furnishings that create a calm space for conversation and unhurried smoking. Below the lounge sits a private members’ area alongside a series of intimate cigar cabins that allow members to smoke and entertain in privacy, while 127 personal cigar lockers provide secure storage for individual collections.
The depth of the house humidor is reflected in its vintage collection. The Gran Vintage 20 series features Cohiba Lanceros and Espléndidos aged for more than two decades, while rare releases such as the 1994 Cohiba A and Torpedo were first presented at the famed “Dinner of the Century” charity event in Paris. Further rarities include early Cohiba Edición Limitada releases and diplomatic presentation cabinets traditionally produced by Cuba as gifts for visiting dignitaries and heads of state. Vintage pieces such as the Trinidad Gran Panetela and the Trinidad Fundadores Vintage 10 S.T. Dupont cabinets also appear within the collection.
The Connaught Cigar Merchants
Housed within The Connaught Hotel, The Connaught Cigar Merchants provides rare Cuban cigars, specialist expertise and an interior that reflects the luxury associated with one of London’s most exclusive hotels.
The lounge, designed by Bryan O’Sullivan, centres on a richly detailed interior beneath an intricately carved Pippy Oak ceiling. Deep leather seating, polished wood cabinetry and soft lighting create an environment that reflects the slower pace associated with traditional cigar lounges.
The cigar programme is overseen by Adam Lajca, one of just thirty-three Masters of Havana Cigars worldwide. His humidor includes limited releases, regional editions and rare Cuban cigars, some of which trace their origins to historic productions once reserved for figures such as Fidel Castro. The team is also able to source rare or vintage cigars upon request.
Pairings play a crucial role in the overall experience. Alongside the cigar collection sits a carefully curated range of spirits, including rare whiskies and the exclusive Connaught Scotch, allowing guests to explore considered cigar and whisky pairings.
Cigars at No. Ten
Found within Ten Manchester Street Hotel in Marylebone, Cigars at No. Ten is one of London’s more established cigar lounges. The venue houses a specialist cigar shop with a tasting lounge and terrace that has been designed specifically for cigar smoking.
At the centre of the space is a De Art humidor where cigars are stored and maintained by the hotel’s cigar team. The collection focuses primarily on Havana cigars, allowing guests to browse and sample within the indoor tasting room before purchasing a single cigar or a full box. The venue also holds the designation of Gold Havana Cigar Specialist.
An all-weather terrace extends the experience outdoors. Here, guests can enjoy full cigar service, including professional cutting and lighting, while pairing cigars with drinks from the bar menu.
Sparrow Italia
The cigar lounge at Sparrow Italia sits above the restaurant’s main dining room on Avery Row in Mayfair. Located on the third floor, it provides an intimate space for guests wishing to enjoy cigars before or after dinner.
The space is arranged as a relaxed retreat above the restaurant, with seating that allows guests to enjoy cigars while overlooking the surrounding Mayfair streets.
The cigar programme is overseen by a Master of Havana Cigars, a designation held by fewer than forty specialists worldwide. The collection focuses on premium cigars from leading producers, with staff available to guide guests through the selection.
The Cigar Shop at The Ritz
Located inside The Ritz London on Piccadilly, The Cigar Shop offers one of the capital’s most traditional cigar lounge experiences.
The interior features leather seating, polished wood cabinetry and art deco-inspired detailing and pays tribute to notable guests associated with the hotel, including Sir Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin and Sir Roger Moore, who were all known enthusiasts of fine cigars.
A walk-in humidor houses a broad selection of premium cigars, including limited editions and vintage releases. Guests can explore the collection with guidance from cigar specialists, who also recommend pairings with Scotch whisky, cognac and rum.
The lounge also features the Ritz London Cigars range. These cigars are hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic using tobacco sourced from Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, whilst a limited number of private lockers within the humidor allow regular guests to store their own collections.
Unlike most places in the city, these are spaces designed for slowing down, instead somewhere to sit comfortably, choose a cigar from a well-kept humidor and spend time properly enjoying it. In Mayfair, that tradition still feels very much intact. Between the neighbourhood’s long-standing hotel lounges and newer spots, there are still places where the ritual of cigars is taken seriously. For collectors, enthusiasts or simply anyone curious about the experience, Mayfair remains one of the best parts of London to find it.
