Ealing Area Guide
Ealing sits to the west of central London and has long been one of those places people move to and stay. Once a separate village, it became part of Greater London in 1965, but much of its earlier character remains in the broad streets, generous houses, and run of parks that break up the town.
At its centre is Ealing Broadway, which brings a busier edge with shops, restaurants, and one of west London’s key transport hubs. The Elizabeth Line has changed the pace of things here, cutting the journey into central London to around 10–15 minutes, and making Ealing an increasingly practical choice for those working across the city.
What holds it all together is the amount of green space. Walpole Park sits just behind the Broadway, while Gunnersbury Park stretches out to the south, giving the area a sense of openness that is unusual this close to central London.
